They have fairly good deals on lighting, doors, and windows compared to other chain stores. I dislike the whole rebate deal though. It's kind of a sales gimmick, but if you do make big purchases it helps with buying other things at the store. The more I shop here the more in liking it. The store layout is good, it's not hard to find something that you're looking for. If you do need help though it's hard to find a sales associate. 95% of the time I have gone there no one has approached me asking if I need help. All in all, its a good store for a DIY'er.
The staff at this store is remarkably helpful and friendly. They're happy to help you not just find a product you're looking for, but help you determine what you need for the project you're working on.
The prices can be a little on the high side, but they'll give you an 11% rebate on literally everything in the store so it largely balances out if you take advantage of that.
Menards is good for the price but you need to keep an eye on quality of some goods. Customer service is also lacking some. It is still my go to store for a lot of construction goods

Very bad experience with customer service today! First off we have never had to look up our own receipt before maybe it is something newer but Makeenno (SP?) was up set with us because we did not know what she was talking about . Then she just had us do an exchange so when we came back w/the product to exchange she helped every one but us and we ended up with another cashier yet another cashier named Amber who by the way is very rude,. First she smiles then gave us a very nasty look esp. when we asked for a sticker so we could check and pay for the rest of our stuff. Both ladies a very rude and so unprofessional exactly what are they doing working in customer service?? Lately we have had very rude mentally disturbed cashiers when checking out is that what you want every one to remember is how rude they are treated when they leave Menard's either checking out or returns and exchanges ?
Like the place got many things and defrost options with once a while good discounts, sometimes it's hard to find someone to help you look for something and if they send someone it takes sometimes for him or her to come help you, over all good place.
I've had excellent experiences every time I've visited this store.
